Three phases, one health pool, five minutes. Beat it and ride through the crate.

Argus is the Starlunk mothership, and it comes for you every fifth wave. It paces the road ninety meters ahead and eight meters up with its nose on your bike, runs a fixed rotation of telegraphed attacks you dodge with speed, and has one health pool across three phases. Not down in five minutes and it withdraws, keeping its damage for next time. It remembers.
PLAY FREEDOM MODEWHAT FREEDOM MODE IS
The sky goes dark, the siren sounds, and the feed says something big is coming over the horizon. You get fifteen seconds. Use them to reload, pick a gun with range, and get your speed up. If you own the Redeemer it arms itself now.
The hull is armoured and nothing you fire at it counts. Six eyes along the belly open one at a time, each for about four seconds, and the open eye is the only thing that takes damage. Every twelve seconds Argus paints a red band on the road where you will be in two and a half seconds, then the belly fires on it for one second. Sprint through the band before the beam, or ease off and stop short of it. Every twenty seconds the bays launch two drones. Kill all six eyes and phase two starts.
Argus drops low. The four rotors are the weak points now and a dead rotor dumps barrels onto the road under the hull. Chain the barrels: one lights the next and chains pay double, triple and up. A Cybercopter rides escort. Every fifteen seconds it carpets the road ahead, and the bays keep launching. Kill all four rotors and it cannot hold altitude.
It comes down on the road ahead with the core exposed and sits across the road like a blockade; nothing gets past the nose. The Starlunk train arrives. Ride at it and hit the core. The bays launch two drones every ten seconds until the core goes.
The wreck slumps onto the shoulder so the road stays rideable, every barrel it was carrying goes off, and it throws a crate onto the road ahead. Ride through the crate for one random draw from the four boss guns.
| Drop | What it does |
|---|---|
| Shock Rifle | Instant beam that pierces up to four targets. Fire a core, then hit it with the beam, for a combo blast that clears a street. |
| Flak Cannon | Eight shards up close. The secondary lobs a flak shell that arcs and bursts on whatever it lands near. |
| Link Gun | Fast plasma, fifty in the magazine. Hold the secondary for a beam that hurts what it touches and links to a posse bot. |
| Redeemer | One round. Thirty meters of nothing left standing. Lands on the hull for a third of Argus in one shot, and it re-arms when the next fight starts. |
The guns stay unlocked. Four kills fill the crate.
On a trainer the bands are a real sprint. Set the trainer difficulty down a notch in the BIKE tab if you want the sprints to be about legs rather than gearing.
Turn Freedom Mode on with the pink switch. Argus takes every fifth attack wave. Turn BOSS RUSH on in the FREEDOM tab and the next attack is Argus.
One pool of 3,000, shared across all three phases. Damage you do stays done: if it withdraws after five minutes it comes back next time with the same health it left with.
The wreck throws a crate onto the road. Ride through it for one random draw from four boss guns: the Shock Rifle, the Flak Cannon, the Link Gun and the Redeemer. One gun per kill, so four kills fill the crate.
Under three minutes pays 8,000 Freedom points instead of 5,000 and the announcer notices. Your best time is kept on your machine and the ride summary shows ARGUS DOWN with the clock.
No. Demo mode with the arrow keys works, UP sprints. A mouse or a controller aims. On a trainer, the red bands are a real sprint interval.
